Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the impact of motivation on job performance at Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, focusing on key motivational factors, challenges affecting motivation, and strategies for improvement. The study employs a quantitative research approach, utilizing structured questionnaires to collect data from 50 office managers across various administrative units. Stratified random sampling was used to ensure fair representation. The data were analyzed using statistical tools, including frequency distribution tables and hypothesis testing. Findings indicate that financial incentives, career advancement opportunities, work environment, and recognition significantly influence office managers' motivation and job performance. The study also highlights challenges such as inadequate incentives, limited professional growth opportunities, and unfavorable working conditions, which contribute to reduced motivation levels. The hypothesis tests confirm a strong correlation between motivation and job performance. Based on these findings, the study recommends the implementation of performance-based rewards, leadership support, and work-life balance policies to enhance motivation. The research contributes to the existing body of knowledge on employee motivation and provides practical recommendations for improving administrative efficiency in organizations.
