Abstract

Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry analysis of constituents of Tetracarpidium Conophorum was carried out. Freshly harvested T. conophorum seeds was obtained from its natural habitat was washed, grated into tiny chunks and constituents were extracted and analyzed. A total of thirty compounds were identified, The GC-MS analysis of T. conophorum seeds revealed the presence of thirty compounds which amount to the total composition. These identified compounds of T.conophorum, their retention indices, percentage composition, molecular formular, molecular weight and chemical structure. Among the thirty identified, the predominant constituents were n-Decanoic acid (16.64%) 4H-Pyran4-one, 2,3-dihydro-3,5-di hydroxy-6-methyl- (13.141%) Tetradecanoic acid (7.724%) 5- hydroxymethyl furfural (5.985%) Heptadecanolide (4.790%) nHexadecanoic acid (4.493%).
