DEVELOPMENT OF AN E-COMMERCE PLATFORM WITH ADVANCED FEATURES (A CASE STUDY OF LAUREL COLLECTION)
Abstract
This project focuses on the development of an advanced e-commerce website for Laurel Collection, a Lagos-based business that specializes in the sales of bags and footwear. The project addresses challenges of traditional business operations such as limited customer reach, Lack of automated record-keeping, and difficulties in online transactions. The proposed solution is an interactive e-commerce website that allows customers to browse products, Add items to cart, make secure payments, and view their order history. The system was designed using a three-tier architecture involving the presentation layer, Application layer, and database layer. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were used for the front-end, Node.js for the back-end, and MySQL for database management. The implementation and testing of the system show that it improves sales efficiency, Reduces human error, and enhances customer satisfaction.
