Abstract

This study examines the correlation between human relations and job performance among office technology managers in Coca-Cola Bottling Companies in Southwest Nigeria. The primary aim is to explore how interpersonal relationships, communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution affect the productivity and efficiency of office technology managers. The study also seeks to understand the influence of organizational culture on fostering positive human relations and its overall impact on performance. A total of 150 office technology managers from Coca-Cola Bottling Companies in Ibadan, were selected using a stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, which focused on key variables such as communication patterns, conflict management strategies, and teamwork dynamics. Interviews were also conducted with a subset of the participants to gain deeper insights into how human relations practices are integrated into the workplace culture. The data gathered were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis to determine the strength and significance of the relationship between human relations and job performance. The analysis revealed a strong positive correlation between effective human relations and higher job performance levels, indicating that office technology managers who maintained strong interpersonal relations and open communication channels demonstrated better performance metrics. The findings suggest that human relations significantly impact job performance in office technology roles. Managers who excelled in communication, team collaboration, and conflict resolution were found to be more productive and efficient in their job roles. Furthermore, the study highlights the critical role of organizational culture in promoting or hindering effective human relations, which in turn influences job performance. Based on these findings, the study recommends that Coca-Cola Bottling Companies should invest in comprehensive training programs focused on enhancing human relations skills. Additionally, fostering an open, communicative work environment, and organizing regular team-building activities can contribute to improved job performance and overall organizational success.
