`EFFECT OF FEEDING GRADED LEVEL OF TARAXACUM OFFICINALE (LION TEETHS) LEAF MEAL ON THE HEAMATOLOGICAL AND SERUMS BIOCHEMICAL INDICES OF A WEANER RABBITS
Abstract
This study evaluated the effects of feeding graded levels of Lion Teeths (Taraxacum
officinale) leaf meal (DLM) on the hematological and serum biochemical indices of weaner
rabbits. A total of 24 weaner rabbits were randomly allocated into three dietary treatment
groups, on a weight equalization each receiving diets containing varying inclusion levels of
DLM (T1 0g T2 10,g and T3 20g). The experimental diets were formulated to finish the 18%
crude protein required by weaner rabbits. Data were collected on hematological parameters
such as packed cell volume (PCV), hemoglobin concentration (Hb), red and white blood cell
counts (RBC, WBC), and serum biochemical indices including total protein, albumin,
glucose, cholesterol, and liver enzymes (ALT, AST). Results revealed significant differences
