DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DATABASE SYSTEM FOR CHILD ABUSE CASES
Abstract
This project focuses on the development of a secure and user-friendly database management system (DBMS) designed to streamline the reporting, tracking, and management of child abuse cases. The objective was to implement a web-based solution that allows social workers, administrators, and legal stakeholders to interact with the system based on defined roles, ensuring confidentiality and efficiency. The System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically the waterfall model, was used to guide the structured development process. A three-tier architecture was employed, comprising a presentation layer built with C#, an application layer using ASP.NET MVC, and a SQL Server backend.
Overall, the DBMS enhances reporting accuracy, minimizes redundancy, and promotes better coordination between agencies. Its built-in analytics support data-driven decision-making and intervention planning. The modular and scalable design makes the system adaptable for use by NGOs, government bodies, and other social welfare institutions at both local and national levels.
