The efect of database technology in hospital administration cannot be overstated The Hospital database system generates data that reguires delicate handling and is developed for the purpose of assessing the quality of healthcare, often for a speciftc disease or within a specific healthcare delivery system. Healthcare databases help individual medical organizations understand their daily activities and their place within the larger healthcare industry. This allows healthcare professionals to make decisions abou how they run their businesses, the work they do, and the systems they use io manage their operations. The method adopted for the research was Proportionate Stratifed Random Sampling Technique. The study population was 1350, comprise of doctors, nurses, health information managers, pharmacists and medical lab scientists in University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin, Kwara Siate. Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling Technique was used to select 10% of each cadre as the figure sampled and questionnaire was used to gathered information from the respondents. Therefore, a total number of 135 questionnaires were distributed. The data collected was analyzed using frequency count, simple percentage, mean and standard deviation with the aid of Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21.0 The result showed that computer database is very important for effective hospital administration. The importance of computer database include: Assists with documentation and billing, Reduction in medical facility running costs due to less paperwork and clerical staff, Provision of accurate, up-to-date patient information, Increase in efficiency due to quick access to records etc. It showed the effects of DBMS on Hospital Administration, the functions of administration department in the hospital and the barriers or challenges in the implementation of computer database management system in the hospital. The recommendation given include; There should be recruitment of trained personnel on computer database, there should be proper implementation of computer database for adequate and efficient documentation, there should be provision of periodic training and seminar on the us of computer database etc. V
