Abstract

This project focuses on conducting an energy audit for a male hostel at Novena University, Ogume Delta State, with an emphasis on measuring energy consumption per kilowatt-hour per student. The primary objective is to identify patterns of energy use and pinpoint opportunities for improving energy efficiency within the hostel. By collecting and analyzing data on electricity consumption, we aim to understand the daily and monthly energy usage per student and identify peak usage times. The findings will help in developing strategies to reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and promote sustainable energy practices among students. This audit not only provides a detailed understanding of current energy usage but also serves as a basis for implementing energy-saving measures that can be replicated across other University facilities.
