Abstract

ABSTRACT Understanding and predicting the behavior of urban transportation systems can be made easier with the help of transportation demand modeling. The application of transportation demand modeling to Nigeria's Calabar metropolis, a rapidly expanding urban area, is the subject of this study. The research involves gathering information about travel habits, traffic patterns, and the region's transportation infrastructure. This information is used to create a model that can be used to examine the effects of various transportation policies and investments on traffic flow, travel time, and mode selection. The study's findings can be used to guide decisions about urban planning and enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of the Calabar metropolis's transportation system.
