ANTI OXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF PHENOTHIAZINE-3-SULPHONAMIDE DERIVATIVES ON TESTOSTERONE-INDUCED BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERLASIA IN MALE ALBINO RATS
Abstract
The prostate is a little, pecan outlined organ in people composed under the bladder and encompassing the urethra. Prostate growing, overall around called harmless prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a typical condition that influences men as they age. This survey takes a gander at the cell support properties and pharmacological impacts of a phenothiazine-3-sulphonamide accomplice on benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) prompted in male pale cleaned individual rodents utilizing testosterone propionate. The study investigated the anti-oxidants properties of a phenothiazine-3-sulphonamide derivative on benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) induced in albino rats. 20 male albino rats were divided into 5 groups, 4 rats in each group. Groups 2-5 were given testosterone propionate to induce BPH. for 30 days, the rats were treated for 7 days. Group (1) was the control, Group (2) was the negative control, receiving only 5mg/kg of testosterone propionate, Group (3) received the standard drug 10mg/kg frusemide, Groups (4) and (5) received 2.5mg/kgand high doses of the phenothiazine-sulphonamide derivative, respectively. The study measured PSA levels, oxidative stress markers (MDA), anti-oxidant (SOD,CAT ,GSH). The phenothiazine-sulphonamide derivative significantly (p < 0.05) to reduced PSA&MDA levels at both concentrations, comparable to the standard drug.
