FACTORS INFLUENCING THE ACQUISITION OF DIGITAL SKILLS BY STUDENT OF OTM PROGRAMME FOR EMPLOYMENT IN EKITI STATE

The purpose of the study was to examine factors that are influencing the acquisition of digital skills by students of OTM programme for employment in Ekiti state. The specific objectives of the study were; to determine factors influencing the acquisition of digital skills by the students of OTM for employment in Ekiti State, to determine the impact of acquisition of Microsoft Excels application skills by OTM students for employment in Ekiti State and to identify the effects of acquisition of Microsoft word processing application skills by OTM students for employment in Ekiti State. The researcher used a survey method to select 132 OTM graduating students of Federal polytechnic Ado Ekiti (FPA) and Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekit. The researcher used self-administered questionnaires. The finding revealed the respondents' perspectives on the factors influencing the acquisition of digital skills by the students of OTM for employment in Ekiti State, the data outlined how important digital skill is to the OTM students, and how am important assest it is to the students future endeavors. The researcher concluded that digital skill is the now strong assest every Organization needs in the modernized digital buisness economy. Lastly, the researcher recommended; OTM educators should educate the students on the importance of digital skill to their employability so that the students can give the digital lessons and class more attention and serious.
