EXPLORING THE POTENTIAL OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) IN GENERATING ADAPTIVE AND PERSONALIZED MATHEMATICS EXERCISES AND LESSONS-"' A CASE STUDY OF ADEYEMI FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, ONDO.
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study explores the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in generating adaptive and personalized mathematics exercises and lessons for students at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo. A survey research design was employed; a total of 100 students from Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo participated in the study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings oj the study revealed that Ai-generated personalized mathematics exercise is effective in improving students learning outcomes compared to traditional mathematics resources and that the user's experience and satisfaction of students and educators with AI- generated content is considerably high. Also, the challenges and limitations in the implementation oj Al personalized mathematics education is fairly low and that the usability and acceptability of the Al-powered mathematics education tool among teachers and students is high. The study concludes that; Ai-generated personalized mathematics exercises are effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes compared to traditional methods. 'Both students and educators have a positive experience and high satisfaction with Ai-generated content. Challenges in implementing Al-powered mathematics education tools are minimal, while their usability and acceptance among teachers and students are notably high. The fttidings recommends that educational institutions should adopt Al-powered personalized mathematics exercises to enhance students' learning outcomes and provide tailored support for diverse learning needs and also establish feedback mechanisms Io collect input from both students and educators on their experience with Al-generated tools, using this data to refine and improve the tools. While challenges are minimal, continuous monitoring and evaluation of AI implementations should be conducted to address any issues promptly, ensuring smooth adoption and operation. Lastly, governments and educational stakeholders should allocate resources to develop and maintain the necessary infrastructure for implementing Al-powered education tools, including devices, software, and internet access.
