DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF MULTIFUNCTIONAL BLENDING MACHINE USING DIRECT CURRENT (DC) MOTOR
Abstract
The design and construction of a portable food blending machine aim to provide a reliable and efficient solution for households and small-scale food processors, especially in areas with limited or unstable electricity supply. Traditional blending methods are often time-consuming, labor-intensive, and lack consistency. A 12V direct current (DC) motor-powered blending machine was developed using locally sourced materials to ensure durability, affordability, and food safety compliance. The machine is powered by a rechargeable battery (19V) and features a dual-control two-way switch for independent operation of the motor and LED indicators, as well as a charging port for flexibility. The blending blades were designed with an optimized tilt angle to enhance cutting efficiency and speed while minimizing energy consumption. Performance tests showed that the machine operates effectively, reducing blending time (3 minutes) and improving output quality. This design provides a sustainable, low-cost, and portable solution for domestic and small commercial food processing needs.
