WOMEN IN GOVERNMENT AND NIGERIAS NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project, "Women in Government," aims to explore the role, representation, and impact of women in political and administrative positions worldwide. The study examines historical trends, current statistics, and the socio-cultural, economic, and political factors influencing women's participation in government. It will analyze the barriers to entry and career advancement faced by women in politics, including gender bias, discriminatory policies, and work-life balance challenges. Additionally, the project will investigate the implications of female leadership on policy decisions, governance quality, and societal outcomes. By employing a mixed-methods approach, including qualitative interviews with female politicians and quantitative analysis of gender-disaggregated data, the research seeks to offer a comprehensive understanding of women's contributions to government and recommend strategies to enhance gender parity in political institutions.
