Abstract

This pot experiment was carried out at Arable Experimental Plot of the department of Crop Production and Soil Science, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, to evaluate sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) under selected organic fertilizer materials in Ogbomoso Oyo state, Nigereia. The six (6) treatment introduced were, T0= (Zero application of fertilizer), T1= (Neem @6tons/ha), T2=(Poultry@ 6tons/ha), T3= (Cowdung @6tons/ha), T4= (Rabbit @6tons/ha), T5=(Markpure @ 6tons/ha). These trials were designed in a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) replicated three times. All fertilizer treatment were applied at recommended rates. All data collected on growth and yield parameters of analyzed following the procedure of Analysis of variances (ANOVA) and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was used to separate treatment means, at 5% probability level. Soil sample was slightly acidic with the pH value of 6.14. T5 (mark pure@6tons) significantly has the highest mean value in the sesame production, while T0 (Zero application of fertilizer) has the least mean value of all the parameters measure. Therefore T5 (mark pure@6tons) is recommended to improve growth and yield of Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) and also boost the physical properties in the study area.
