Abstract

ABSTRACT This project presents the development of an AI-based language translation application designed to facilitate seamless communication between English and three major Nigerian languages: Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo. The application aims to bridge linguistic barriers by providing accurate and efficient translations, thereby enhancing accessibility to information for diverse user groups. Utilizing advanced machine learning techniques, the application is capable of translating text inputs in real-time, allowing users to select their desired source and target languages effortlessly. The project involved a comprehensive design process that prioritized user experience, featuring a straightforward interface that includes a login system, language selection menu, text input area, and a display for translated text. User feedback was integral to refining the application, ensuring that it meets the needs of its audience while addressing common challenges associated with language nuances and idiomatic expressions
