Abstract

This project aims to delve into the multifaceted application of geotechnical engineering in road construction. From the initial site investigation to the design and execution phases, geotechnical considerations profoundly impact decision-making processes. The utilization of geotechnical data aids in selecting appropriate foundation types, designing effective slope stabilization measures, and mitigating the risks associated with subsurface conditions. Moreover, advancements in geotechnical technologies, such as ground improvement techniques, geosynthetics, and geophysical investigations, have revolutionized the way road projects are conceptualized and executed. These innovations not only enhance the efficiency of construction but also contribute to sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
