THE ROLE OF PLANNING AND FORECASTING IN BUSINESS ORGANIZATION (A STUDY OF SHOPRITE ENUGU STATE)

The project topic titled “the role of planning and forecasting in business organization. A study of Shoprite Enugu State Enugu. The objectives of the study is to ascertain f technique on planning and forecasting has a role in Nigeria business organization and to examine relationship between planning and forecasting on profit making in an organization. The literature review further discussed various ways of planning and forecasting in business organization. The researchers sourced materials through primary and secondary sources, the primary data include questionnaire and oral interview, while secondary data include textbooks, journals, internet, articles and so on. A population of two hundred (200) was used, a sample size of one hundred and thirty three (133) was obtained. The researcher found showed that techniques on planning and forecasting have a sign significant role in Nigeria business organization, it was discovered that planning and forecasting have positive relationship on profit making in an organization, it was concluded that the application of new totals of planning and forecasting will make lots of change in global business practice in South East Nigeria. The researcher recommended that to the enterprise should invest in human capital in areas of planning and forecasting, that because of globalization,planning and forecasting has to gain way for best practices in global enterprise.
