THE IMPACT OF MANAGEMENT INCENTIVES ON WORKERS’ PRODUCTIVITY (A STUDY OF CHAMPION BREWERIES, UYO)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study investigates the impact of management incentives on workers’ productivity, with specific focus on Champion Breweries in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. In today’s competitive business environment, organizations are under increasing pressure to optimize performance while maintaining employee satisfaction. Incentives have emerged as a strategic tool used by management to influence employee behavior and output.
The study adopts a descriptive research design, utilizing both primary and secondary data. Questionnaires were administered to employees across different departments of the organization. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and tabular presentations.
Findings reveal that both financial incentives (such as bonuses, salary increments, and allowances) and non-financial incentives (recognition, promotion, and conducive work environment) significantly influence workers’ productivity. It was also discovered that employees who feel valued and rewarded tend to exhibit higher commitment, efficiency, and job satisfaction.
The study concludes that management incentives are critical drivers of productivity and recommends that organizations should develop balanced and consistent incentive systems to sustain employee performance and organizational growth.
