Abstract

ABSTRACT This project work is on the construction of charcoal stove for domestic utilization. The construction process of the charcoal stove involves the selection of materials, the measuring out, marking out, cutting, filing, welding and painting as the finishing touches. The constructed charcoal stove consists of the following dimensions: lengths of the charcoal chamber – 300mm, width of the charcoal chamber – 290mm. Both length and width of ash chamber-120mm. Height of the charcoal stove 270mm, both width and length fan chamber-100mm, total length of the charcoal stove-600mm. From the water boiling test (WBT) carried out, the result obtained shows that, the improved charcoal stove performance is much better than traditional metal stove with higher efficiency of combustion. Therefore improved charcoal stove is recommended for domestic uses due to its suitability in application than the traditional metal stove.
