TOPOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM OF ATIBA LOCAL GOVERNMENT SECRETARIAT, OFFA META, ATIBA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, OYO, OYO STATE
Abstract
The production of a Topographic Information System (TIS) for Atiba Local Government Secretariat, Offa Meta, Oyo, is crucial due to the absence of a proper system for planning and land management. This initiative aims to provide a reliable tool for effective planning, decisionmaking, and land management within the local government area. The aim was to create a tool for effective land planning, administration, and management. Field and office reconnaissance were carried out to understand the terrain and proper planning and for the equipment to be used. Geometric (spatial) data were collected using GNSS receivers during the process perimeter surveys, detailing, and spot heighten. Which were carried out simultaneously. Data processing were properly done by the using Notepad and Microsoft Excel 2010 for editing, Civil 3D 2022 for drafting, Surfer 14 for generating the Digital Terrain Model (DTM), and ArcGIS 10.6.1 for spatial analysis and query generation. A relational database model was created, and GIS analysis functions were applied, including queries and map generation. The final output was presented in graphical form to support decision-making and planning within the study area.
