Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) have challenged economic actors in both developed and developing countries alike, even though at a different scale, scope, and speed (Adams, 2019). From businesses to governments, digital technology has confronted traditional methodologies and foundational ideas, demonstrating that technology is genuinely disruptive. It has offered unprecedented opportunities for economic growth by providing access to information (both in real time), connecting people to businesses everywhere, opening up new markets, supporting accountability efforts in government, reducing cost and improving effectiveness and efficiency in operations.
