ANALYSIS AND SIMULATION OF FUELLESS GENERATOR
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The project deals with the analysis and simulation of a fuelless generator to serve an alternative source of energy. The work is aimed at solving the problem of inadequate power supply and environmental pollution which leads to degradation or depletion of the ozone layer posed by the use of conventional fossil fuel generators. The energy produced by the fuelless generator is cheap, reliable and environmentally friendly. However, the conventional Electricity generators have two units; the internal combustion engine unit and the electrical unit. To simulate a fuel less generator using Proteus, several components are required to run the simulation effectively. First, the internal combustion engine of the conventional fossil fuel generator is replaced with an electromechanical device that is being powered by a 12V battery to drive the alternator, the system sends part of the alternator output to the charging circuit to recharge the battery, and the DC motor uses same power from the battery again, converts it to mechanical energy at over 98% efficiency rate to drive the alternator. The cycle repeals itself all over again. So, the concept here is to replace the internal combustion engine that depends on fuel with an electromechanical device that converts electric current into mechanical energy. The electromechanical device that is used to replace the internal combustion engine is designed in such a way that it uses less power than the alternator power output. The materials used for the seminar work will include DC motor, Alternator. 12V/62Ah battery, charging panel (diode), control unit and output unit. Finally, a feedback to ascertain the overall workability and efficiency output of the fuel less generator will be observed by connecting varying loads ranging from 1bulb to 4 bulbs.
