DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF A SMART SOLAR-POWERED SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
Abstract
A smart solar powered surveillance system is a video collection device installed in a particular location and utilized for a variety of purposes, it can be controlled and observed remotely and has a backup power system in form of the solar powered inverter. Due to the frequent and rampant cases of burglary, the need for an effective and reliable intrusion detection system with an alarm system has become a critical necessity. This project aims to design and develop a system that can capture and record moving images, to design and develop a system that can transmit the captured moving images wirelessly, to design and integrate into the system, functionality that will enable the system to alert the user immediately when an unusual action is noticed and to integrate into the system, a solar powered inverter that will serve as a power backup for the system. A network video recorder (NVR) and a microcontroller will be the two main devices. Cameras, hard drives, screens, modems, GSM modules, and motion sensors will be among the other devices. The system will also be divided into two parts: CCTV and alerting. The camera will be used to capture real-time video of its surroundings. The modem will also serve as the link between the NVR and the remote server. The videos that will be captured with it will be saved on the hard drive. All of the aforementioned CCTV operations will be coordinated by the NVR. The motion sensor will be used to detect intruders for the alerting system. The SIM800L GSM module will establish a connection with the user's phone. This activity will be coordinated by the ATMEGA328. The installation process will consider the optimal placement of solar panels and cameras to maximize exposure to sunlight and enhance the system's coverage. Connectivity will be established through wireless communication protocols, enabling remote monitoring and control. xi Additionally, the system's scalability will allow for easy expansion and integration with existing security infrastructure.
