Abstract

This study presents a performance evaluation of a 2.5 kVA solar powered inverter, focusing on it's efficiency, reliability, and adaptability for small-scale energy needs. The primary objective is to analyze the inverter's ability to convert solar energy into usable electrical power while maintaining stable output under varying loads. Key performance metrics such as energy conversion efficiency, battery charging speed, and load-handling capacity were assessed through a series of tests in different environmental conditions. The inverter system, equipped with monocrystalline solar panels, a battery bank, and an integrated charge controller, was tested over a period to gauge its effectiveness in off-grid applications. Results indicate that the 2.5 kVA inverter achieved an average efficiency of approximately 90%, demonstrating high energy conversion with minimal losses. The system showed consistent performance with an efficient battery charging cycle, allowing for uninterrupted power supply even during periods of fluctuating sunlight. However, limitations were observed in peak load scenarios, where efficiency marginally declined. Overall, this evaluation suggests that a 2.5 kVA solar-powered inverter is a viable solution for renewable energy integration in residential and small commercial applications, contributing to energy sustainability and reduced reliance on traditional power sources. Further improvements in storage capacity and inverter technology are recommended to enhance performance under higher load demands.
