THE IMPACT OF ELECTRONIC RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE IN FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC DAMATURU, YOBE STATE

This research focused on The Impact of Electronic Records Management System on Organizational Performance in Federal Polytechnic Damaturu. Aimed to achieve the following objectives; to establish the benefits of Electronic Records Management System in Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, to determine the challenges facing the effective management of Electronic Records Management System in Federal Polytechnic Damaturu and to determine the solutions to the challenges facing the effective management of Electronic Records Management System in Federal Polytechnic Damaturu. The researcher used survey research design. A total of 65 questionnaire were distributed and Sixty 60 were duly filled and retrieved by the research for analysis under usable conditions. A tabular form with simple percentage was used to present the raw data. The researcher concluded that this study examined the impact of the Electronic Record Management System (ERMS) on organizational performance in Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, with a focus on three key objectives: identifying the benefits of ERMS, understanding the challenges associated with its implementation, and exploring possible solutions to those challenges. The findings revealed that the adoption of an electronic record management system has significantly improved the institution’s efficiency, accuracy, accessibility, and security of records. It has facilitated quicker decision-making, enhanced transparency, and reduced the risks associated with manual record handling, thereby contributing positively to the overall organizational performance. The researcher recommended that Construct Electronic Records Management System facilities For Electronic Records Management System services to prevail in the organizations, they must be underpinned by the availability of Electronic Records Management System facilities because digital records are technology-dependent both for creation, preservation and storage.
