Abstract

Power supply in Nigeria and most developing countries of the world can be regarded as unstable. This has had adverse effect on consumers of electricity and equipment that are operated from the main source of electricity supply in these parts of the world in this project. To provide an automatic switching mechanism that transfers the customer's load to a power source from a generator automatically in the case of power failure in the means of supply. It automatically detects when power has been restored to the main supply and returns the load to this source while turning OFF the power from the generator automatically. This mechanism has been tested and we recorded the result. It thus holds an important key in the provision of a continuous power supply through a seamless switching between the main supply and an alternative supply source automatically.
