Abstract
ABSTRACT
This is study examined the effectiveness of manpower development Aba south Local Government Area. The research focused on the difficulty workers have in recognizing the need of getting workers produce their own personal development plans. Also some policies of the local government have not aided personal training and development plan for workers. The objective of the study is identifying the manpower development programme of Aba North Local Government, as well as assesses their impact on the success and performance of workers of the local government. The research method use in data collection is primary and secondary sources of data. Hypotheses were tested using chi-square statistical technique. The findings of this study were that manpower development ensures workers understanding and their level of competency in the local government system. The researcher recommends that employer should be exposed to the various development programmers taking part in project team force.
