Abstract

The Federal Polytechnic Mubi Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society (FPMSSMCS) currently operates a manual loan management system that is inefficient, error-prone, and lacks transparency. This project aimed to design and implement an automated Loan Management System (LMS) to streamline loan processing, enhance accuracy, and improve member satisfaction. The study adopted an agile software development methodology to iteratively design and develop a user-friendly LMS using VB.NET and MS Access. The system automates key processes such as member registration, loan application, approval, disbursement, and repayment tracking. It incorporates features like real-time loan status updates, automated calculations, and secure data management to address the limitations of the existing manual system. Despite its success, the system has limitations, including a restricted capacity for concurrent users (5 maximum) and a lack of mobile compatibility.
