EVALUATION OF ENGINEERING PROPERTIES OF A BORROW PITS ALONG MINNA-BIDA ROAD
Abstract
This research work evaluates the characteristic strength of laterite at borrow pits along Minna-Bida road. These existing borrow pits have been abandoned over years so this research work is based on determining the characteristic strength of the laterite to know if it is suitable and meets the requirement for road construction. By so doing certain soil test would be carried out: CBR test, compaction test, particle size distribution (sieve analysis) and moisture content.
