A LIGHT IN THE DARK: A MODERN ECHO OF DANIEL’S STORY
Abstract
This study is a modern adaptation of Daniel’s story into stage play. It explores how Daniel’s story and by extension Faith based plays can inspire, educate, and address societal challenges while promoting spiritual values and moral responsibility. Employing qualitative research methodology, it adapts the Biblical story of Daniel to explore themes of identity, resilience, and faith in the face of change. By bridging gaps in the production and reception of biblical adaptations, it underscores the importance of preserving spiritual narratives while enhancing their relevance to contemporary audiences. This study recommends the incorporation of faith-based plays to promote social change and community development. This is premised on the fact that they can inspire empathy, foster critical thinking, encourage communal unity, and offer a moral framework for navigating complex issues in contemporary society.
