CONSTRUCTION OF SMART RAIN DETECTION WIPER SYSTEM
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study examined. A Smart Rain Detection Wiper System is an innovative design that
automatically detects rainfall using a rain sensor and activates the windshield wiper without
human intervention. The system relies on an embedded microcontroller such as an Arduino
UNO or ESP32, which processes the signal from the rain sensor and controls a DC motor or
servo motor connected to the wiper mechanism. When rain is detected, the sensor sends an
analog or digital signal to the microcontroller, which triggers the motor to operate at a speed
proportional to the rainfall intensity. Once the rain stops, the system automatically
deactivates the wiper. This project combines sensor technology, microcontroller
programming, and automated control systems to achieve a functional prototype. The
integration of hardware and software allows the system to sense environmental conditions
and respond intelligently, reducing driver workload and improving safety. The construction
of this smart rain detection wiper system is a step toward building fully automated vehicle
subsystems and supports current research trends in Internet of Things (IoT) and smart
automotive technologies.
