Abstract

The manual ticketing and reservation process on the Abraka-Warri train route has led to inefficiencies, errors, and delays. This study focuses on the design and implementation of an automated ticketing and reservation system to streamline operations, improve passenger convenience, and enhance record management. The system was developed using [specify programming language, e.g., Python, Java] and a [database system, e.g., MySQL] backend. Features include online ticket booking, real-time seat availability checks, electronic payment integration, and automated ticket generation. Testing and validation of the system indicate improved efficiency, reduced manual errors, and enhanced user experience compared to the existing manual system. This project demonstrates that automation in railway ticketing can significantly improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
