DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTAION OF ASMALL-SCALEWIND ENERGY POWER SYSTEM
Abstract
This project focuses on the design and implementation of a small-scale wind turbinepowergeneration system with storage capacity, specifically targeting and solving DCpower generation. The design employs a three-blade horizontal-axis wind turbine, with output voltages rangingfrom 1 to 20 volts, depending on varying wind speeds. The system integrates both electrical and mechanical components This includes agenerator, rectification circuit, battery bank, and load, These consist of the turbine blades, support stand, and circuit housing/generator support. The integration of these components is essential to achieving the project's objectives. Thedesignprocess begins with AutoCAD drawings and design calculations. If the design meets therequiredspecifications, it is implemented; otherwise, necessary modifications are made. Tosimulatedif erent wind speeds and ensure accuracy, the system is tested using a standing fan. This report conclusion provides a detailed account of the project's introduction andliteraturereview, the design methodologies used, the results which was able to power several ledbulbsresulting in a power output of 0.65 W and an ef iciency of 43.33% obtained and their analysis, and concludes with recommendations for future advancements in small-scale windturbinesystems
