THE EFFECT OF BANKS CREDIT ON AGRICULTURE PRODUCTIVITY IN NIGERIA
Abstract
Abstract
This study examined the relationship between bank credit on agricultural productivity in Nigeria from 1981 to 2023. The specific objectives were to examine the impact of commercial bank credit, interest rates, and government expenditure on agricultural output in Nigeria. Utilizing an ex-post facto research design, the study relied on secondary data obtained from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reports and bulletins for the specified period. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model facilitated the analysis, allowing for the estimation of both long- and short-term relationships among the variables, with econometric tests conducted using E-Views 10 software.
