Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and stroke remain leading health concerns in Nigeria, particularly among adults aged 20–50. This project addresses the need for accessible digital health tools through the development of a mobile health monitoring system aimed at promoting early detection and preventive management. The objective is to create an efficient, easy-to-use application that enables patients to monitor key health indicators and access reliable health information using the waterfall methodology for the software development lifecycle. The system is developed using React for the frontend and Firebase for both backend services and real-time database management. Key features include manual entry of vital signs, AI-based health recommendations, appointment scheduling, and educational health resources. Preliminary results show that the system effectively provides timely feedback, and assists in health monitoring. This project contributes to improving preventive healthcare access and outcomes for at-risk populations.
