PROPOSED CASSAVA PROCESSING FACTORY FOR GBOKO, BENUE STATE
Abstract
This project presents a comprehensive framework for the design and establishment of a modern cassava
processing factory in Gboko, Benue State. The proposed cassava factory is designed to address critical
challenges in the local cassava production industry, such as post-harvest losses, inefficient processing,
and limited value-added production. The factory will incorporate advanced processing equipment and
sustainable practices to ensure that cassava farmers in the region have access to efficient, high-quality
processing services. The research aims to provide technical insights into the design, functionality, and
operational dynamics of a modern cassava processing facility, equipping stakeholders with the
knowledge necessary to implement an economically viable and sustainable solution for cassava
production. By utilizing cutting-edge equipment and efficient workflows, the factory will significantly
reduce agricultural waste and increase productivity, contributing to the economic development of
Gboko and surrounding areas. This report outlines key aspects of the cassava production value chain,
discusses the region’s potential for processing innovation, and highlights the infrastructure and
equipment necessary to support a thriving cassava industry in Gboko.
