EFFECTIVENESS OF ONLINE PLATFORMS ON SKILL ACQUISITION AMONG RESIDENTS OF BOMPAI, KANO STATE
Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of online platforms in facilitating skill acquisition among residents of Bompai, Kano State. With the rise of digital technology and internet accessibility, online learning has become a popular means of acquiring new skills. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, and data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to participants actively using online platforms. The findings revealed that online platforms significantly contribute to skill development, particularly in areas such as digital skills, entrepreneurship, and vocational training. However, challenges such as poor internet connectivity, lack of motivation, and limited digital literacy hinder optimal utilization. The study concludes that while online platforms are effective tools for skill acquisition, improvements in infrastructure and awareness are necessary to maximize their benefits.
