Abstract

In this research, biosurfactant was produced from microorganism- Pseudomonas aueginosa using cassava sieveate mixed with waste frying oil as carbon source. The nitrogen source used in this study was urea. The result shows that the mixture of cassava sieviate and waste frying oil contains high quantity of carbon 85.25 mg/l and Nitrogen 4.11 g/l hence very good for bioactive production. Carbon has effect on the efficiency of the biosurfactant as it reduced the surface tension (S.T) from 55.13 mN/m at 2 g/l of Carbon to 23.33 mN/m at 10 g/l. The emulsification index on the other hand was increased from 24.32 % at 2 g/l to 68.50 % at 10 g/l. .Nitrogen has effect effect on the efficiency of the biosurfactant as it reduced the surface tension (S.T) and Emulsification index (E.I) from 63.22 mN/m at 2 g/l of Carbon to 33.56 mN/m at 10 g/l. The emulsification index on the other hand was increased from 33.21 % at 2 g/l to 75.22 % at 10 g/l. The best quality of the produced biosurfactant was at pH 7 with ST30.03mN/m and E.I 55.60 %. The highest efficiency of the biosurfactant was produced at a temperature of 31oC. The effect of time shows thst at 3days the highest efficiency was at 3 days with 28.86 MN/m . Surface tension and Emulsification index of 56.34%.The best quality biosurfactant was produced at 200 rpm
