DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AI-BASED TRAFIC PREDICTION SYSTEM
Abstract
Road traffic prediction plays a crucial role in alleviating traffic congestion which represents a critical global problem. This usually results in negative consequences such as lost of hours in additional travel time due to gridlock, increased fuel consumption, accidents and loss of lives. Integrating emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) into road traffic prediction is quite rewarding as the system is capable of learning from existing data to enhance prediction results. In this study the stages of AI application development was adopted as the methodology using Kaggle prediction model to build the application. The proposed system is capable of addressing the challenges associated with road traffic prediction when deployed for use.
