Abstract

ABSTRACT This project proposes the development of an Animal Genetic Resource Center in Keffi, Nigeria, aimed at conserving and utilizing the country's rich livestock genetic resources. The center will serve as a hub for the collection, preservation, and dissemination of superior animal genetic materials, enhancing the productivity and resilience of Nigeria's livestock industry. The facility will feature state-of-theart laboratories, artificial insemination and embryo transfer units, and genebanks for storing animal genetic materials. The project aligns with national efforts to promote agricultural development, food security, and rural poverty reduction.
