DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTEGRATED SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM
Abstract
Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role in economic development, especially in developing economies like Nigeria. However, many SMEs face challenges such as poor record-keeping, inefficient operations, and lack of integration across business functions. This study presents the design and development of an integrated SME system aimed at improving business efficiency and decision-making. The system integrates modules such as inventory management, sales tracking, accounting, and customer management. A structured system development approach was used, involving requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The developed system enhances accuracy, reduces manual errors, and improves overall business performance.
