SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS KNOWLEDGE OF THE USE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY TOOLS AND MANAEGMENT PRACTICE IN BOKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF CROSS RIVER STATE
Abstract
Education is widely regarded as a channel of economic prosperity. It is the
key to economic, political, social, scientific and technical advancement, a
means to combating unemployment as well as the foundation of social
cquality. It enhances the spread of political, socialization, cultural and
religions vitality. Information and communication technology plays a vital
role in enhancing the quality of education. Administration application of
ICT are currently becoming popular in secondary schools due to it’s
capabilities in facilitating administrating activities such as, proper school
records, examination management. proper information-flow, proper
financial records and improvement in effective and efficient from data
storage to knowledge management and decision making. This study takes a
cursory look at the different literature regarding the meaning of some of
the ICT facilities such as computers, instructional television/media,
scientific calculators, cell phones and their uses lor effective administrative
activities in schools. The study reads the tendency [lor school
administrators to improvise and increase the utibzation of [C1 in their
daily administrative task, to make their task more efficient and effective. It
was recommended that school administrators should develop the
knowledge and practice of ICT by ensuring that their subordinate undergo
in-service training from time to time, so as to enhance their performances
