Abstract

Abstract This study investigates the impact of leadership styles on workers’ productivity, focusing on Nigerian Breweries Plc in Aba, Nigeria. Leadership plays a critical role in shaping employee performance, motivation, and overall organizational success. The study examines three major leadership styles: autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire, and their influence on employee productivity. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, and data were collected using structured questionnaires distributed to employees of Nigerian Breweries, Aba. The responses were analyzed using statistical tools such as percentages and mean scores. The findings revealed that democratic leadership significantly enhances workers’ productivity due to increased employee participation and motivation. Autocratic leadership showed mixed outcomes, while laissez-faire leadership had minimal positive impact on productivity. The study concludes that leadership style is a major determinant of workers’ efficiency and recommends that organizations adopt participatory leadership approaches to improve performance.
