Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the effects of financial incentives on employees’ job satisfaction in selected banks in Damaturu. The research investigates how various financial rewards, including salaries, bonuses, and allowances, influence employee motivation, commitment, and overall satisfaction at work. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, and data were collected from employees using structured questionnaires. The findings reveal that financial incentives significantly contribute to employees’ job satisfaction, enhancing their performance, loyalty, and willingness to remain with the organization. The study concludes that banks that implement fair and competitive financial incentive schemes are more likely to maintain a satisfied and productive workforce. Recommendations are made for banking management to regularly review and improve financial reward systems to ensure employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency.
