DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN AUTONOMOUS DELIVERY ROBOT
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project addresses the growing need for automation in logistics by developing an autonomous delivery robot designed for controlled environments such as academic institutions and office facilities. Aimed at reducing manual delivery efforts and enhancing internal logistics efficiency, the robot uses a microcontroller-based control system, ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection, DC motors for movement, and a rechargeable power supply. A simple navigation algorithm paired with real-time obstacle detection will guide the robot safely through predefined spaces. So far, the hardware components have been selected, and work on the navigation and control algorithms is underway. Once completed, the system will be tested for navigation accuracy, obstacle avoidance, and delivery performance. This report presents the progress achieved to date and lays the groundwork for the final implementation and evaluation phases, with the broader goal of contributing to cost-effective and practical automation solutions for institutional settings.
