Abstract

ABSTRACT This research examines the impact of multinational corporations (MNCs) on the socio-economic development of Nigeria, focusing specifically on Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc in Aba. The study explores how MNCs contribute to employment generation, infrastructure development, technological transfer, and overall economic growth. At the same time, it evaluates the challenges associated with their operations, including environmental degradation, profit repatriation, and inequality. Data were collected through both primary and secondary sources, including questionnaires, interviews, and existing literature. The findings reveal that Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc plays a significant role in job creation and economic stimulation within Aba and its surrounding communities. However, the study also identifies areas where improvements are needed, particularly in corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The research concludes that while multinational corporations are vital drivers of development, their activities must be properly regulated to ensure balanced and inclusive growth.
