using simple percentages. The outcome of this study probed that occupational
mobility among secretaries has its major causes as unfair and unequal treatment, unsatisfactory pay, lack of promotional opportunities and non provisions of necessary working equipment to ensure that secretaries perform their jobs well and improve productivity and quality service delivery. The conclusion made based on these findings is that secretaries in some establishments encounter problems in the course of carrying out their duties. These problems which include mass resignation, lack of job satisfaction, low productivity, poor quality of work and frustration may lead to these secretaries changing their jobs.In the light of the above findings,it is recommended that motivational tools like appreciation, recognition and promotion for a job well done and provision of modern working tools and equipment for secretaries will go a long way to motivate secretaries in their chosen field of endeavor.Furthermore, adequate training and personal development opportunities should be made available for secretaries through short and long term courses, seminars and conferences to enable them learn new technologies that will improve the quality and speed of service delivery in the job.
