Abstract

ABSTRACT Access to healthcare remains a significant challenge in many rural communities in Nigeria. This study assesses the factors associated with access to healthcare among households in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State. A cross-sectional survey design was adopted, with data collected through structured questionnaires administered to selected households. The findings reveal that income level, distance to healthcare facilities, educational status, availability of healthcare services, and cultural beliefs significantly influence healthcare access. The study concludes that improving infrastructure, strengthening primary healthcare systems, and enhancing public awareness are essential to improving healthcare access in rural areas.
