STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE PRODUCTION OF TABLE WATER (A CASE STUDY OF ABDUL TABLE WATER TALATA MAFARA)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study presents a time series analysis of poliomyelitis infection among children in Maradun Local Government, Zamfara State, from 2015 to 2024. The aim of the research is to examine the trend of polio infections over the specified period, identify patterns, and forecast future incidences. Poliomyelitis, a viral disease that predominantly affects young children, remains a significant public health concern despite global eradication efforts. Data on polio infections in Maradun Local Government were collected from health records and analyzed using statistical methods, including trend analysis, seasonal decomposition, and forecasting models. The results reveal a fluctuating pattern of infection rates over the years, with noticeable reductions following immunization campaigns. However, certain periods exhibited spikes in infection, likely due to gaps in vaccination coverage and other health intervention challenges. The analysis highlights the effectiveness of ongoing immunization programs while pointing out areas that require further attention to completely eradicate the disease. Based on the trends identified, the study provides projections for the future, offering crucial insights for policymakers and health officials in Zamfara State to strengthen disease control measures. This research contributes to the broader understanding of poliomyelitis infection dynamics and offers recommendations to enhance public health interventions aimed at eradicating the disease in vulnerable populations.
